When Discretion Matters
In a close-knit community, it can be hard to seek support without wondering who might notice. You may know your neighbors through work, clubs, and social circles, and a visit to a local office can feel more public than it should. There is no office in Westlake. Sessions take place in Southwest Austin, away from your usual routes, so the appointment belongs to you alone. Secure video from home is another option, with the door closed and no one the wiser. Discretion is not about secrecy or shame. It is about giving yourself a space where you can speak freely, without managing how you are perceived for an hour.
High Standards, Private Costs
High standards can be a real strength. They can also become a private weight: the sense that you must look composed at all times, that any visible struggle will cost you, or that rest has to be earned. Perfectionism can hide behind competence, and the pressure to appear effortless can be exhausting in a community where everyone seems to be doing well. In therapy, we can look at where those standards came from, what they protect, and what they are costing you now. If exhaustion has become the background of your days, you may also want to read about burnout and leadership stress.
From West Lake Hills and Rollingwood
The office is at FUSE WorkSpace, 13341 W Hwy 290, in Southwest Austin. It is a private, quiet room with easy parking, and it sits well outside the Westlake area, which may be part of the appeal. When a trip across town does not fit your calendar, secure telehealth lets us meet by video, as long as you are located in Texas during the session. You can mix the two, coming in person when you want a room that is fully separate from home and work, and meeting online during heavier weeks. Appointments run Monday to Friday, 11:00am to 8:00pm, with evening availability Monday to Thursday.
Relationships Under Pressure
The traits that serve you professionally do not always translate at home. Control can keep a project on track and still create distance with a partner. Diplomacy can smooth over conflict at work and leave your own needs unspoken. Self-sufficiency can look like strength until you notice how rarely you let anyone help. This is individual work: we focus on your side of the pattern, how it formed, and what it would take to respond differently. We may explore attachment, core beliefs, and the moments when you feel most defensive or most alone. If this sounds familiar, you can read more about relationship patterns.
A Clinician Who Knows Organizational Life
Before becoming a licensed therapist in 2023, I spent more than 20 years in communications and behavioral consulting, working inside organizations and alongside leaders. I understand the language of performance reviews, restructurings, difficult stakeholders, and the quiet politics of a leadership role. That background means you will not need to explain how your world works before we can talk about how it affects you. It also means I respect ambition while staying curious about what it costs. I hold an MA in Mental Health Counseling and graduate diplomas in Positive Psychology and Organizational Development. You can read more About my background and path to this work.
