Close to the Y
The office is not in Oak Hill itself. It is at FUSE WorkSpace on West Highway 290, west of the Y where Highway 290 and Highway 71 meet. If you live in Oak Hill, that means therapy can happen in familiar territory, on roads you already know, without heading into central Austin. Near, in this sense, is less about a number and more about ease: an appointment that fits beside the errands and meetings that already shape your week. When a session is easy to reach, it is easier to keep, and consistency gives the work room to deepen. The room itself is private and quiet, with easy parking, so you can arrive and settle without rushing.
A Crossroads Neighborhood
Oak Hill is a place where roads divide, one direction toward the Hill Country and another toward the lake. It is a fitting image for a certain kind of life. You may spend much of your week in transit between obligations, moving from one role to the next without much time to ask where you are actually going. Therapy can work like a pause at that crossroads. It is not a place to be told which road to take. It is a place to stop, look at the options honestly, notice which choices are driven by fear or habit, and choose a direction that reflects what you value. From coping to clarity. From patterns to possibility.
Steady on the Outside
You may be thinking, "I'm successful and functioning, but I'm not happy." From the outside, your life may look in order. Inside, there may be a flatness, a restlessness, or a steady hum of worry that never quite switches off. That gap between appearance and experience can feel isolating, especially when others rely on you to be the steady one. Therapy is a place where you do not have to justify your distress with a dramatic story. We can look at how anxiety and depression may be showing up in your sleep, your patience, your relationships, and your sense of meaning, and begin to understand what they are asking of you.
How Sessions Work
Individual sessions last 50 to 60 minutes. The style is collaborative and semi-structured: we follow what matters most to you while keeping a thread from one week to the next, so the work builds rather than starting over. I am direct, and I will offer honest observations along with questions. Between sessions, you may take away a reflection, a short practice, or something to notice during the week. Depending on what you need, our work may draw on CBT, problem-solving therapy, DBT-informed skills, IFS-informed work, and psychodynamic, existential, or attachment-focused exploration. You can read more about my approach and how these methods fit together in the room.
Language and Culture in the Room
Sessions are available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. I am originally from Venezuela and have relocated internationally five times, living in Caracas, Rio de Janeiro, Panama City, London, Paris, Miami, and Austin. That history shapes how I listen. If you move between languages or cultures, you will not need to translate yourself into a single version to be understood. When the office does not fit your week, secure telehealth is available anywhere in Texas, as long as you are located in Texas during the session. You can also read about Therapy in Southwest Austin, which describes the office and the neighborhoods around it.
